Dead Flat Varnish is a water-based, acrylic varnish designed for decorative painting projects. It comes in a 1-gallon container and has a clear, liquid composition that includes Solvent Naptha and 4.4 Dimethyloxazolidine. The coverage of this varnish is 350-450 sq-ft per gallon, and it has a quick curing time of 1/2 hr to touch, 2 hrs to handle, and 12 hrs to fully cure at 60 deg F and 50% Relative Humidity.

When applying Dead Flat Varnish, it is recommended to do so in temperatures between 60-80 deg F with a flashpoint greater than 200 deg F. It has a VOC content of 95 g/L and a specific gravity of 1.042, along with a mild odor. This varnish can be applied using a brush, roller, or spray method, and it is resistant to abrasion and water.

One important note is that the price of Dead Flat Varnish includes a PaintCare fee in certain states such as CA, CO, CT, DC, IL, ME, MN, OR, RI, VT, and WA. This varnish is non-yellowing and is designed to provide a premium, clear finish with minimal sheen. It is not recommended to be used over Modern Masters Metallic Paint Collection™ or Metal Effects® Reactive Paints.
